Shall I compare thee to a rainy day?
Thou art more vernal and invigorating,
Storms and thunder, come when may
But also is refreshing, restoring, elating,
Too often rain drowns the soul and chills the core,
Too often it disseminates and starts to bore,
But thy vernal rain shall not quench the flame,
Nor drench the days and be cause of blame,
Thou art the font of love and lust and life,
Thou art the end of dearth and drought and strife,
The rainy day may cease to feed,
To let the world perish in need,
But your rain infuses it to its essence,
And your clouds give hope at their presence.
